Bushwhacker Luke

Bushwhacker Luke (born Brian Wickens on January 8, 1947, in Auckland, New Zealand) is a semi-retired professional wrestler. He is best known as half of the comedic, crowd-pleasing WWE tag team The Bushwhackers alongside the late Bushwhacker Butch. Before their WWF/WWE success, the duo wrestled for decades as the hardcore tag team The Sheepherders.

Early Life and Career

Born in Auckland, Wickens grew up with a background in rugby and local sports. He began his professional wrestling career in New Zealand in 1962 and later trained in 1966. He first teamed up with Bob Miller (later Bushwhacker Butch) as the "Kiwi Sheepherders" in the 1970s, establishing a fearsome reputation for a violent and aggressive in-ring style.

WWF / WWE Success

In the late 1980s, the duo signed with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) and transitioned into a more comedic, fan-favorite act known as The Bushwhackers. They became famous for their distinct "march," swinging their arms wildly, licking the heads of fans, and sporting their signature oversized camouflage bucket hats.
